Let us take you for a walk through the heavens.

New for 2009 I.O.S. will be offering celestial navigation training on the Isle of Wight the venue chosen for the course is Steephill Cove a place that time has forgotten.

Steephill Cove is a traditional, unspoilt fishing cove with a safe, sandy beach, nestled between rocky cliffs and smugglers' coves. Accessible only on foot the cove is small but perfectly formed, lined with pretty cottages, some thatched, plus a seafood restaurant fit for castaways on a desert island, This southern stretch of coastline has a tropical microclimate: and a much better chance of clearer skies due to the lack of light pollution.

There will be two different courses ; a 3 day one that will give a practical insight to the wonderful art and subject of astro navigation. The second course will be run over 5 days and is suitable for people wishing to obtain the R.Y.A Yachtmaster Ocean theory certificate.

Both courses have practical elements to them and are designed not only to be educational but also great fun
